"John Proctor is the Villain is a comedy play by Kimberly Belflower that explores the American classic The Crucible through a contemporary lens. The play is set in 2018 at a rural Georgia high school where a group of teenage girls are studying The Crucible while also navigating young love, sex ed, and school scandals. The girls question who the real hero is and what the truth is, and discover their own power in the process. The play is described as touching, funny, and captivating, and some say it has a powerful feminist message."
